N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dickinson scored three power play goals in the second period and held on for a 5-3 win over Jamestown in West Region boys hockey Tuesday night at John L. Wilson Arena.

Jaren Hugelen scored twice and Cody Shepard added his team leading 18th goal in the decisive period. Shepard would add three assist for the Midgets. Ryan Bren had two first period goals to give Dickinson the 2-0 lead.

Leo Halko would cut the lead to 2-1 with his 8th of the season late in the first. Alex Senf and Tommy Falk added third period goals for the final margin.  It was Senf’s 11th and Falk’s 5th of the season.

Matthew Schneider had 45 saves for the Jays. Riley Wittenburg had 33 for Dickinson.

Jamestown is 8-6 overall and 5-5 in the West Region and in a three way tie for second place with Minot and Dickinson. The Blue Jays travel to Williston on Saturday.
