CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Teachers, students and staff members from the Valley City School District donated 200 new books and $300 in cash to the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo last month.
After Hearing about the need for books for children at the hospital in Fargo teachers, led by Valley City Education Association president Karen Askerooth challenged students and staff members to collect books and money over a four day period. Askerooth said it was an amazing effort. She delivered the books to the staff at Sanford Hospital and they were overwhelmed by the generosity.
The Valley City Public School District hopes this effort inspires others to give new books and monetary donations to the reading program at the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo.
