N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Barnes County North girls basketball team started the season winning three of its first five games. But since a win over Midkota on December 12th, its been a tough road.

The team has reached 50 points in only one game this season, that was in a 52-25 win over Maple Valley in the Barnes County Tournament. With a 3-10 mark on the year, and only five games to go, the Bison look to turn things around heading towards the postseason.  And head coach Tracy Heinze says it starts on the offensive end.

With five of the top 15 teams in the state on their schedule, Heinze says playing that kind of competition has helped her team.

The Bison play host to Medina/Pingree/Buchanan on Thursday and the Thunder are 11-2 on the season and ranked #3 in the state.
