N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A key game in District 5 boy’s basketball will be played in Ellendale tonight as the Cardinals host LaMoure-Litchville/Marion.
The Cardinals are 8-2 on the year and 3-0 in Region 3 play. Ellendale has won five straight heading into tonight’s matchup with the Loboes. The Cardinals have one of the best defenses in the state. They are fifth in points allowed at 42.7 per game.
Ellendale head coach Brian Vance the key to the strong defense is playing together.
LLM is also 8-2 overall and 1-0 in Region games. The Loboes have won three of their last four games with the only loss coming to Maple Valley in the Barnes County Tournament Championship game. Loboes head coach Darren Thielges says these upcoming games will go a long way to help define this team.
After tonight, LLM faces Maple Valley again and Carrington who are a combine 19-2.
