JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents of a new high risk offender living within the community.

Ronald Scott Thompson, 55, currently resides at 403 1st Avenue North #11. He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee. He was convicted of Gross Sexual Imposition in 1995 when he entered the home of a 42 year-old Bismarck woman he did not know.

Thompson used physical force, pressing a knife against the victim’s throat and pulled her from the shower. He then forced her to engage in an oral sexual act. The victim was cut with the knife and suffered other physical injuries.

The notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault, or intimidate the offender. Any attempt to harass, intimidate, or threaten an offender or their family will result in prosecution.
