MOORHEAD, MN (NewsDakota.com)- Saturday morning Valley City High School opened their season at The Concordia Invite. They will compete again this Friday at the Class A Indoor Championships held on the campus of North Dakota State University at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track & Field Facility.

 

 

Girls

Britta Roehrich was the highest placer for the day with a 6th place performance in Triple Jump.

Olivia Olson’s new personal record performance in the 55 meter earned her a top ten finish.

Another outstanding performer for the meet where Morgan Nelson who competed in the 55 meter, Long Jump, High Jump, and anchored the girls 4×200 relay.  who was seventh and right behind her was Macy Reinhart, eighth in the 55 hurdles.

Boys

Peyton Zaun was the boys top point earner of the meet.  Peyton jumped well to open the season, placing fifth in the Triple Jump and eighth in the High Jump.  Peyton also was the top boy in the Long Jump for the Hi-Liners.

Not to be out done Jared Eggermont placed fifth in the 55 Hurdles setting a new personal record and by doing so, he has entered the Hi-Liner record books in two categories.  Jared now owns the freshmen and overall records for the 55 hurdles. Jared also set a new personal record in the 200 meter.

Benton Murray’s performance in the High Jump earned him a sixth place finish and Benton also ran the anchor leg for the 4×200 relay.

Trevor Winter also scored points for the with his seventh place performance in the Triple Jump matching his personal record from last season.
