JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Medallus Medical has been open and operating in Jamestown since March 19th.
The urgent care facility celebrated a grand opening for the community on Tuesday. The walk-in clinic gave tours, talked about what they bring to the community and the different services they provide.
The Jamestown Public School District was a big part of bringing in the urgent care center by paying a portion of the monthly clinic rent and initial development and supply start-up costs.
John Lynch is director of the Jamestown Valley Career and Technology Center.
Jamestown Public School Superintendent Rob Lech says that Medallus Medical is not being operated by the school. They are just contracted so their staff can receive care through the center.
Dr. Rachot Vacharothone works in Utah with Medallus Medical. He says they can handle 90% of most emergency needs and accept all insurances.
Roxanne Johnson will serve as the clinic nurse practitioner for family medicine and mental health. Jody Tanner will serve as the physician assistant on urgent care. Between 10 to 15 employees are hired at the center.
Medallus Medical Jamestown is located at 723 First Avenue South next to Quiznos and the UPS store. The 3,000 square-foot space holds seven exam rooms and can handle up to 100 patients daily.
