VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A hitch on the back of a truck backed into a gas meter on the west side of the Taco Johns building in Valley City and broke a pipe.

Valley City Assist Fire Chief Ron Burchill said electrical power was shut off for nearly an hour as a precaution while crews from MDU fixed the gas leak. No injuries were reported.

The power shutdown knocked off KOVC Radio for about 50 minutes as well as other nearby businesses in Valley City.
