FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Playing as the No.1 team in Class A for the first time The Valley City softball team will face another top ten program Tuesday night when they travel to Fargo to battle the No.9 North Spartans.
Through their first 7 games The Hi-Liners are unbeaten with a 3-0 conference mark, they defeated both defending state champions sweeping West Fargo and Kindred in a doubleheader back on April 21st.
Fargo North is coming after back to back loses dropping games to Davies and Moorhead last week. The losses snapped a 7 game win streak and dipped their record to 7-3.
This next week will be telling for The Spartans, they will see the top two programs in Class A and Class B with Valley City, West Fargo, Central Cass and Kindred all on the schedule. Head coach Scott Carter says his team needs to put their recent struggles behind them
Last year The Hi-Liners and Spartans met 3 times. North took the first games which included a win in The EDC Tournament. Valley City beat them in the consolation semifinals at state. Over the years the two programs have developed a rivalry
