BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown used a big seventh inning and extra inning heroics to pull out a 7-6, 11-inning victory to gain a split in the West Region double-header with Bismarck Legacy Tuesday night in Bismarck. The Sabres took the first game 2-1.
Bismarck Legacy 2, Jamestown 1
In game one, Caden Kudrna had three hits, including an rbi double in the second inning leading the Sabres offense. Brandon Pegors added and rbi double in the fifth to give Legacy a two run lead. Chris Erickson would drive in Kohl Kratz with an rbi single in the seventh before Cru Walker would strike out Tommy Falk with the bases loaded to end the game.
Jamestown 7, Bismarck Legacy 6 F/11
The second game went an entirely different way. Legacy’s Paxton Miller would set down the Blue Jays in order in the first six innings. Then came the seventh. Dawson Douty broke up the perfect game with a leadoff single. By the time the inning was done, the Jays scored six runs, had four hits and Legacy committed four errors to send the game to extra innings.
In top of the 11th, Max Anderson drove in Ryder Lunzman with a single to break the 6-6 tie leading the Jays to the win. Chris Jackson would hold the Sabres scoreless in the bottom of the inning to preserve the win.
Dawson Douty gave up six runs in the first two innings, but then shut down Legacy with six straight scoreless innings. Jackson pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win. Legacy’s Miller struck out 12 Jays in 6 1/3 innings allowing four runs, three earned and three hits.
Jamestown is 7-7 overall and 5-5 in the West Region. They host Bismarck Century Tuesday May 15th.
