JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The Jimmie baseball team (41-9) will continue their season next week in the NAIA Opening Round tournament in Oklahoma City. This is the third trip for the program to OKC since the opening round format began in 2009 with trips in 2010 and 2012.
Jamestown drew the #4-seed in the bracket and they will play York College (Neb.) on Monday in the first game of the tournament at 11am. The winner of that game advances to take on the top-seeded host Oklahoma City in the finale of day one.
York (26-26) qualified for the tournament as runner-up in KCAC conference tournament. They lost to Oklahoma Wesleyan in the final, but OKWU already had a bid locked up as the regular season champion.
Mobile (Ala.) and Central Methodist (Mo.) are the two and three seeds, respectively. They will play the middle game.
It’s Jamestown 7th appearance in the opening round since the format change. They have not been to the World Series since 2008 (pre-Opening Round).
You can listen to coverage of the games from Jim Wade Stadium on ESPN Jamestown.
