JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – This Saturday, runners and walkers from all over will be participating in the annual Running of the Pink.

The annual event has raised over $100,000 for breast and cervical cancer in the past 10 years. Tara Kapp with RM Stoudt says the event first started with 60 participants and has grown to be bigger than anyone ever could have expected.

Kapp reports that earlier this week, they are already well over the 500 registered participant mark. She says they understand the event has become very important for most people in the community.

The 10K run and 5K run/walk is set to begin Saturday, June 2nd at RM Stoudt in Jamestown. All funds raised from sponsorships, participants, donations and more will be donated to the “No Excuses” program, which removes the barriers for breast and cervical cancer screenings.

JRMC Foundation Director Lisa Jackson says teaming up with Central Valley Health and Women’s Way, they were able to address a glaring need for the women in Stutsman County through the “No Excuses” program.
