GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NDHP) – This weekend, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) and the Steele County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a DUI checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrol.

The checkpoint will be conducted at a predetermined location from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm in Steele County and saturation patrols will take place June 29 and June 30. The primary purpose of a checkpoint and saturation is to deter drinking and driving.

So far this year, approximately 19.5 percent of North Dakota fatal crashes have been alcohol-related.
