LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As one of only 10 scenic byways and backways in the state, the Chan SanSan features 35 miles of beautiful scenery through southeastern North Dakota

Sonya Albertson is the Chan SanSan Scenic Backway Coordinator. She says she’s responsible for maintaining the infrastructure along Highway 46 in LaMoure County.

To promote the scenic backway, Albertson has teamed up with four area quilting businesses to host five tour stops along the scenic roadway on Saturday, July 21st.

Albertson says she got the idea from another scenic byway in North Dakota.

The five quilt groups include Comforts of Home Quilting & More in Jamestown, Quilted Ceiling & Gifts in Valley City, Quilt-N-Sew, LLC in Oakes, and Rumpelquiltskin in Wishek. The run will be free will offering and have stops in five locations including:

-Trinity Lutheran Church in Adrian
-Dickey Town Hall
-LaMoure County Museum at Memorial Park
-Zoar Lutheran Church in LaMoure
-St. Ansgar Lutheran Church south of LaMoure

Barn quilts will also be a highlight along the backway.

Albertson says individuals can start the run at any of the five shows. You’ll receive a stamp card and those who view all five shows will be entered to win some prizes.

There will be several dining options along the run too, which goes from 9 AM to 5 PM. Albertson says they’ll continually update their Facebook page with more information. You can also call Sonya Albertson for more at 701-368-8638.
