VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City and Enderlin played in a pair of close games Thursday in Valley City. The first game went to VC Post 60 6-5 in walk-off fashion. The visitors claimed the second game 3-2, they scored the winning run in the 7th.

Enderlin is now 14-8, they travel to Oakes Monday. Valley City is 11-15, they remain at home Friday hosting The Fargo Bombers in a region game.

 

Game 1: Valley City 6 vs. Enderlin 5

Post 60 built an early 5-0 lead only to see The Railcats chip away at it. Enderlin came back with 2 runs in the 4th and 6th innings.

In top of the 7th  Enderlin’s Cam Yantis reached with a one out single and then was able to score the tying run when Garret Finger put a ball in play that was mishandled in the infield.

Valley City began the home half of the inning rattling off 3 straight hits to load the bases for pinch hitter Briar Harvey. He ended the game with a single to right field.

Rylee Bjork came into the game with 2 out in the 6th and finished it out earning the win. Austin Glarum was the pitcher of record for The Railcats.

Post 60’s offense pounded out 10 hits. Jacob Johnson was 3 for 3. Riley Gerhardt drove in 2 runs while going 2 for 3 with a double. Jade Pulkrabek had a pair of RBI for Enderlin, Austin Glarum was 2 for 4.

Game 2: Enderlin 3 vs. Valley City 2 

Nathan Amerman drove in the winning run with a single to center that scored Brandon Utke in the top of the 7th. Amerman then set down Valley City in order to secure the win.

Both Jonah Weller and Chance Bye had 3 hit games for Enderlin. Weller added 2 RBI. Bjork brought home both runs for Valley City.

Reese Huschka struck out 8 in a loss on the mound for Valley City.
