JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) Facilities Manager Amy Walters will tell you it’s hard to believe that they’ve been a part of the community for one year on September 5th.

TRAC is a $28.6 million community facility overseen by the Jamestown Parks & Recreation Department. Construction began when Jamestown voters approved a 1 percent sales tax in June 2015. Today, it provides an aquatics center, learning center, drop-off child care service, cardio and strength equipment, multi-use sports court and indoor turf field.

In that time, TRAC has topped their yearly goal of 2,700 memberships and have around 4,000 or more at this time. Walters says as a year approaches, a special event is being planned on September 5th.

Walters says maintenance will be taking place this fall in all areas of the facility. She says the pool will close August 20th and will be reopened before September 5th.

Cleaning across the facility during that time may also close those certain areas briefly.

Another thing Walters mentioned was a new program that would round-up memberships from those who agreed to that would then go on to support membership “scholarships” for those who can’t afford them.

Walters says they’ve been able to raise around $30,000 for the scholarships through fundraising. She says this will allow them to create even more dollars that can helps those pay for memberships.
