LAKOTA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A New Rockford man was injured after he struck another vehicle when distracted while using an electronic device near Lakota Sunday afternoon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 21 year-old Hunter Hanson was traveling westbound pulling an enclosed trailer on Highway 2 from the Stump Lake area to Leeds, ND when he was distracted by an electronic device. Hanson failed to realize a GMC pickup slowing in front of him, causing him to strike the vehicle and enter the ditch. The truck rolled onto its top, coming to rest in the ditch.

All occupants of the GMC pickup were not injured. Hanson was transported to CHI St. Alexius in Devils Lake where he was treated and released.

Hanson currently faces distracted driving charges.
