JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Jamestown was named to USA Today’s 2018 “America’s 50 Best Cities to Live.”

According to the internationally distributed newspaper, 24/7 Wall Street created a weighted index of over two-dozen measures to identify the best American cities to live in.

“The communities on this list span the country from coast to coast, but are disproportionately concentrated in the Midwest,” the article says.

The city of Jamestown landed at number 27 on the list, boasting a typical household earning of $49,086 per year.

“Still, because costs are relatively low in Jamestown, a dollar goes further in the city. Median monthly housing costs in the city are just $646, well below the corresponding national median of $1,012.”

Jamestown wasn’t the only North Dakota city to make the list. Williston ranked at number 50, Dickinson was number 16, and Mandan landed at number 2.

Other notable cities that made the list include New Ulm, Minnesota, Sartell, Minnesota, Pierre, South Dakota, Thief River FAlls, Minnesota, and Brandon, South Dakota.
