VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City officials are in the process of selecting a new fire chief being fire chief Gary Retterath is retiring at the end of the year.

One of the hiring committee members is city commissioner Mike Bishop.

The top two candidates had their final interview on October 25th. They were Valley City fire fighter Scott Magnuson and Clinton, Wisconsin assistant fire chief Derek Anderson.

The hiring committee will meet in an executive session on October 29th and the announcement of a new Valley City Fire Chief could be this week.
