MINOT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High volleyball team continued to fight all weekend at the North Dakota Class A State Volleyball Tournament, but couldn’t avoid coming up just short all three matches. After finishing just two points shy of the state semifinals on Thursday, they dropped two more five set matches.

On Saturday in the 7th place match, Jamestown extended their streak of state tournament matches going five-sets with another thriller against Bismarck High. It was the fifth straight match at state to go five-sets featuring the Jays.

Bismarck High held off the Jays for a 3-2 (25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-12) win.

The same pattern happened in all three matches as well. Jamestown lost sets 1, 3, and 5 in all three matches, never having a match-lead.

All-state performer Courtney Peterson lead the Jays with 23 kills in Saturday’s loss. Rachel Schiele lead the way with 32 digs.

Jamestown actually out hit the Demons .194 to .148. The loss finishes the Jays season at 20-15.
