JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In June, it was reported that work would begin to create more space and improve the parking lot at the Jamestown Regional Airport.
The $675,000 project work included tearing up the existing surface, moving the fire hydrant and fighter jet from the entrance and improving storm water runoff drainage. Previously, the parking lot provided 127 spaces and now, it will have around 203 total parking spaces.
Members of the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and the Young Professionals of Jamestown held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the project.
“With an increase in passenger counts and the continued growth, the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority saw the need for more adequate, unmetered parking to accommodate the increasing traffic,” the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce stated. “With the support of the ND Public Finance Authority, the project was financed in full.”
The Airport thanked Interstate Engineering, Border States Paving, Jamestown Regional Airport Employees, the Federal Aviation Administration, ND Aeronautics Commission, and the ND Public Finance Authority for their help in the project.
Businesses qualify for a ribbon-cutting ceremony if they open, move, remodel, are under new ownership or change their name. For more information, contact Emily Bivens by emailing: director@jamestownchamber.com or call the chamber at 701-252-4830.
