JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County personnel will be undertaking training with others from Barnes and Richland county before implementing the new Everbridge Notification System.

Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist informed the County Commission that they had entered the contact with Everbridge on November 1st and would look to fully transition by February 2019.

The system is used to notify residents of the county regarding severe weather announcements and emergency events through phone, e-mail, fax, text and other mediums. Bergquist says the move will save the county around $5,000 compared to the current CodeRED system.

Bergquist says now, they will begin informing residents of the switch. He says they will need to register once again with their information including phone and email through the Everbridge System.

The emergency notification system is completely free to all county residents. For more information, contact Jerry Bergquist at 701-252-9093 or email jbergqui@nd.gov.
