ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The warm temperatures brought out nearly 1,500 people for the annual Canadian Pacific Holiday Train fundraising event in Enderlin on December 14th.

The Holiday Train features a decorated Canadian Pacific train that raises food for local food banks.

During the Enderlin event, Ransom County Food Pantry executive director Terry Brown said Canadian Pacific donated $5,500. He said thanks to the good will of so many people attending the event another $1,425 was donated to the local food pantry. He said volunteers were busy sorting through 2,040 pounds of non-perishable food items donated to the Ransom County Food Pantry.

Brown said he was thrilled with the response and the blessings donated by so many people. He said thanks to the mild weather and that the event was held on a Friday attendance more than doubled from previous years.

The train featured performances from Willy Porter, The Trews, Sam Roberts Band and Jojo Mason.
