CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals wrestling team traveled to Linton this past weekend for the Linton Holiday Wrestling Tournament and the boys basketball team took on the Wildcats of Benson County in Carrington in a non-region Class B boys basketball match-up on Saturday.

The wrestlers finished in third place out of 30 teams with 169 points, first place went to New Salem with 208, South Border took second with 175.5, Oakes fourth with 148 and in fifth was Napoleon with 137.5. The Cardinals had five wrestlers finish in the top three or better. Next up will be Tuesday night for a non-region dual with Lisbon in Carrington. Carrington 62  Benson County 43, boys hoops

The Cardinals boys basketball team won 62-43 over the Wildcats of Benson County for their first victory of the year and improve to 1-1 overall. Junior Seth Nelson led the way with 34 points for the Cardinals. Kadin Neppl had 14 for BC.
