VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Gary Retterath served as a firefighter for 43 years including 16 as the Fire Chief of Valley City. He had this reflection about his career during his retirement party on January 4.

He said a lot of technology has changed to help firefighters and rescue squad personal like air packs and right now drones are very helpful.

Retterath thanked KOVC Radio for getting important information out to the public during his tenure as Chief.

Scott Magnuson was sworn in as the new Fire Chief for Valley City and the Rural Fire District on January 3.
