JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Child Care Aware has been in North Dakota for nearly 26 years, helping families and child care facilities with numerous resources and information.
Stutsman County has benefited greatly from these services. Verla Jung is the Manager of Child Care Start-Up for Child Care Aware North Dakota.
According to the 2018 numbers from Child Care Aware, a total of 91 children ages 0 through 12 received care through the program. The children potentially needing child care is more than 3,000 in Stutsman County.
Jung says thanks to Jamestown United Way, they’ve been able to continue their service for the Jamestown area with background checks, child care training and startup, and parent services.
United Way member Kevin Walker says a donation to United Way benefits not only Child Care Aware, but also several other non-profit organizations in the region.
A free training to discuss the importance of self-care in five different areas of our lives will be held through Child Care Aware on Thursday, January 10th at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
The training is for Jamestown area individuals and was made possible by Jamestown United Way. Learn more by contact Verla Jung at 701-476-6864.
