OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- There hasn’t been a loss on the Oakes girls basketball team’s ledger since before Christmas break. With another dominating 66-39 victory over the Sargent Central Cadets, Oakes has won its last eight games by a margin of 30 points per game.
Oakes lead by just 9 after one quarter which has been a small lead for the Tornadoes during this winning streak, but a brilliant 2nd quarter netted them a 28 point lead at the break.
In that first half, Oakes was lead by the three-headed monster of Nicole Schmitz, Jaida Seyer and Sadie Hansen who finished half number one with a combined 37 points.
In total, 10 out of 11 players on the roster found the score column Monday night.
Schmitz and Hansen scored a team high 15 points while Seyer chipped in 14 points.
Off the bench, Allison Jepson turned in her best performance of the year scoring 7 points on 3 made field goals.
Leading scorer for Sargent Central was Brynn Peterson with 21 points.
Oakes is back in action Tuesday night at Napoleon-Gackle/Streeter.
