BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Nearly 1.1 million people boarded an airplane at one of the eight commercial airports in North Dakota last year, a 5 percent increase over 2017.

The state Aeronautics Commission says another 1.1 million people deplaned at a North Dakota airport, for a total passenger count of nearly 2.2 million.

Six of the eight airports saw an increase in passengers — Bismarck, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Fargo, Minot and Williston. The Bismarck and Devils Lake airports had their highest annual passenger count on record. Grand Forks and Jamestown had decreases.

The Jamestown Regional Airport had a total of 11,808 passengers for 2018’s totals. It’s the third year in a row the airport has topped 10,000 boarding’s in one year.
