ABERDEEN, S.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Fresh off a pair of wins against Dickinson State, Valley City State traveled to Aberdeen for a North Star Double Header with Presentation College.
The women extended their winning streak to 5 with a 85-70 victory over The Saints. For the men, it went right down to the wire with PC hanging on to get the 82-79 win.
WBB: VCSU 85 vs. Presentation 70
The Vikings used another big second half run to pull away from The Saints. Leading 57-53 heading into the final quarter, they scored 13 straight points and never looked back.
VCSU had 4 in double figures. Hannah Schlecht had 22 points going 7 for 15 from the field. She added 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Mackenzie Huber scored 18 points with 7 boards, Allie Vandal had 16 points and 7 rebounds and off the bench Kaitlin Connor scored 11.
Presentation was led by Allison Cox’s 24 points, she collected 5 3’s. Tone Oglesby added 15 points.
With the win VCSU is 9-9 and 6-1 in The NSAA.

Needing 3 points to force overtime, Valley City had a chance to run one last play with .6 seconds left. Hunter Sand inbounded to Connor Entzi who took the last shot that came up short of keeping the game alive.
VCSU had a monsterous second half from Logan Nelson, he scored 23 in the second half to finish with 29 points. Entzi finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Christian Kvilvang 10.
Quadre Lollis paced The Saints with 22 points. Mychal Deas had 14 points and Elijah Coleman 12.
The Vikings drop to 5-13 and 2-5 in the conference.
Presentation College will now head Valley City Friday with their second meeting of the season. The women play at 5:30 and the men at 7:30.
