JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During a special City Council meeting Tuesday, the Jamestown City Council approved a resolution to begin working on the 2019 paving project in a portion of Jamestown.

City Engineer Travis Dillman says annually, the city selects a district to complete needed road work and repairs. Dillman says the district this year is in the Northeast section of Jamestown.

Dillman says the estimated cost of all of the planned work sits at around $1.8 million.

Dillman says they’ll look to follow their timeline to open bids by April. The resolution was unanimously approved.

Later during the Finance & Legal Committee meeting, committee Chairman Dan Buchanan read a proclamation by Mayor Dwaine Heinrich proclaiming Jamestown to be a Main Street City.

The proclamation supports the continued success and efforts of the commission, staff, businesses, and residents in creating a vibrant, engaged community.
