LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior McKenzie Johnson poured in 19 points, including some crucial free throws in the fourth quarter to help No. 9 Carrington hand the Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion their first loss in the district by the final score of 59-53.

The Cardinals improve to 13-2 overall and 5-0 in District 5, LLM drops to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in D5.

The Cardinals led 34-28 at the end of three quarters of play, the Loboes would close the gap to two points with about two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but Johnson would go 7 of 8 at the charity stripe to help the Cardinals get the victory.

Junior Bella Hone added 13 off the bench for Carrington and Addison Hoornaert had 10. For the Loboes, Junior Kaylynn Siedschlag had a team high 15 points, including some big three point shots in the fourth quarter, three to be exact. Ellie Holen added 12 and Molly Musland had 10.

Next up for Carrington will be Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier in Carrington on Friday, January 25th for another District 5 contest.
