JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An event created by Don Wegner 13 years ago has raised thousands of dollars for the Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice Care Program.
Wegner says he originally started the Polar Pig Walk the Plank event for Cabin Fever Days as a way to get people out and support a cause. Since then, it has raised nearly $200,000 for the Hospice Care program.
Wegner says the Jamestown HOGS Chapter event features raffles, auction items and the chili feed with all proceeds helping their cause. He says the big event is the “walk the plank” into the pool.
Wegner says jumpers raise money in order to participate.
The 2018 event raised around $20,000, all of which went to the Hospice Care program. Wegner says they appreciate all the past support and hope to see a lot of individuals raising money to jump in the February 2nd event at Stutsman Harley Davidson.
The event starts at 10 AM at Stutsman Harley Davidson with the silent auction. The chili feed will follow and the jumping will start at Noon. For more information about the Hospice program, contact the JRMC at 701-952-1050 or Don Wegner at 701-320-7866.
