DETROIT LAKES, MN (NewsDakota.com) – Detroit Lakes scored two power play goals 4:21 apart in the third period to open up a three goal lead on the way to a 6-1 win over Jamestown in high school boys hockey Tuesday night in Detroit Lakes.

Trey Seebold had a hat trick for the the home team. Linemate Roland Cormier had a goal and two assists as did Will Green, all three seniors.

Blue Jay head coach Matt Stockert says the Lakers are a veteran team that showed tonight.

 

 

The Jays lone score came when Tommy Falk scored his team leading 12th for the season with less than two minutes to play in the second period to pull the Jays to within 2-1. The Lakers outshot Jamestown 20-4 in the period, but the birthday boy Falk scored the lone goal.

Coach Stockert says he liked the way his team battled all night.

 

 

Freshman Brode Hillstrom started his first varsity game and made 55 saves, the most by a Jamestown goaltender since Matthew Schneider made 59 saves against Bismarck Century on December 15th of 2017.

Jamestown, who had won five of the last six games, fall to 6-9-1 on the year. They travel to West Fargo to face Sheyenne in their last non-regional game of the season. The puck drops at 7:30. The game can be heard on ESPN Jamestown and newsdaklta.com with the pregame at 7:15.
