JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two suspects were arrested on multiple violations following a vehicle pursuit in Jamestown on February 1st.
Lt. Sid Marn reports that at around 10 PM, officers attempted to stop a red Jeep leaving Casey’s General Store in North Jamestown.
“Driver Cody Deese had a probation hold and a suspended driver’s license,” Lt. Marn reports. “The vehicle did not stop for the officers and continued through residential areas in Northeast Jamestown until leaving Northbound out of city limits towards Jamestown Marina.”
Officers set up spike strips at the intersection of Highway 20 and East Lakeside Road. The vehicle evaded the spike strips and continued east on 32nd Street SE at speeds of around 55 mph.
The vehicle became disabled in a snow drift on the section line near 88th Avenue SE where Deese and Jessica Poux were taken into custody just a few minutes later.
“During the pursuit, the two occupants switched positions in the vehicle,” Lt. Marn stated.
Deese is currently being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center on charges of Driving While Operator’s License was Suspended, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude in a Motor Vehicle, and is being held on Parole and Probation hold. Poux is being held for Fleeing or Attempting to Elude in a Motor Vehicle.
The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.
