JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The City of Jamestown and Stutsman County will be establishing a Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census.
The Finance & Legal Committee met Tuesday to discuss the resolution. Mayor Dwaine Heinrich stated that they would be forming up with Stutsman County, who is in charge of approving their own resolution.

Heinrich stated that there wasn’t a limit of how many could serve on the committee once it’s formed.

The committee will develop and implement an awareness campaign that motivates residents to respond to the 202 Census and encourages participation by population groups that are often undercounted. The resolution was unanimously passed.
Later, the City of Jamestown approved the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) to pay a portion of the South Central Dakota Regional Council dues to help fund the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The city share was set to be $11,045 of the $37,534 in dues.
JSDC Executive Director Connie Ova says the board approved to authorize the partial payment until state funding was secured.

Ova says from 2019 beyond, the SCDRC will assist with $15,000 to fund the SBDC. The request was unanimously approved.
