DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 2019 Class B District 7 Boys Basketball Tournament will open on Friday, February 22nd with three games on tap at the Sports Center in Devils Lake. The three day tourney will continue Saturday and wrap up Monday.
The Indians of Four Winds/Minnewaukan are the number one seed and will receive a first round bye, they are going for their seventh consecutive District 7 championship. They have won the district championship every year since 2013, beating New Rockford/Sheyenne in 2014, 2016 and 2018, Harvey/Wells County in 2015 and 2017 and Carrington in 2013. In 2012, Carrington (part of District 5, Region 3 as of 2015) beat Warwick for the championship. Here is the first round schedule:
430pm – #4 Benson County vs. #5 Lakota
20 minutes after – #2 (No. 8) New Rockford/Sheyenne vs. #7 Harvey/Wells County
20 minutes after – #3 Dakota Prairie vs. #6 Warwick
All New Rockford/Sheyenne, Dakota Prairie and Harvey/Wells County games will be broadcast on AM 1600/FM 100.1 KDAK the Cardinal and newsdakota.com.
