ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Western portions of Dickey County are beginning to see overland flooding, County Officials report.

Eastern Dickey County is still awaiting this early flooding stage, says Dickey County Emergency Manager Charlie Russell.

Russell predicts significant flooding along the Maple and Elm Rivers in Dickey County due to snow loading, while no major concerns have arisen concerning the James River.

Sandbags for the public are available at the Dickey County Highway Shop and the Oakes City Shop.

Russell says that while nothing is of major concern yet, but the public needs to be cautious of the changing conditions. The public is encouraged to report flooded or impassable roadways to the county Emergency Manager to prevent further travel on the roads. No detours are currently in place for Dickey County.
