OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Defending Region 1 champion Enderlin-Maple Valley improved to improve to 4-0-1 on the season after a pair of victories over the Oakes Tornadoes Monday night.

Game 1: EMV 9, Oakes 0

For the third consecutive game, Oakes was held scoreless as EMV’s Jacob Johnson was nearly flawless on the mound. Johnson pitched the distance, surrendered four hits and two walks while striking out a season high 15 batters on 104 pitches thrown. At the plate, EMV used a three run 1st inning and a four run 6th inning to take command of game 1.

Colten Sorenson led the way for the Falcons registering two hits, four RBI’s and 1 run scored.

Oakes’ Adam Neustel was the only hitter in the lineup to record a multi-hit game as he had a pair of singles.

Game 2: EMV 6, Oakes 3
EMV was handed a second consecutive complete game pitching performance. This time it was who Dakota Mark pitched seven innings, allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out five batters.

The Falcons’ Jacob Johnson added a coupe hits in game two as did Grady Karges. Four of the six EMV runs came in the first three innings against Oakes starter Brady McKenna. McKenna finished his afternoon after four innings and six earned runs on seven hits and five walks.

Oakes’ next time out is tonight against Oak Grove for a doubleheader in Fargo.

EMV’s next time out is also tonight at Kindred taking on Kindred/Richland.
