BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – ND legislators passed a bonding bill that includes funding to build a new Communication and Fine Arts building on the campus of Valley City State University. The bill also includes funding for Dunbar Hall at NDSU including NDSU’s Agriculture Products Development Center.

District 24 State Senator Larry Robinson of Valley City was a co-sponsor of Senate Bill 2297 which provides $32 million to build a new structure on campus to replace Foss Music Hall being that building is on the wrong side of the city of Valley City’s permanent flood protection project.

Robinson praised lawmakers for passing this bonding bill that will greatly benefit students at VCSU and NDSU into the future.

Under the plan, Foss Music Hall will be removed and a new Communication and Fine Arts building will be constructed just west of the VCSU Student Center.

VCSU President Dr. Alan LaFave thanked North Dakota legislators who voted in favor of this bill and community members who testified on behalf of this project during the 2019 Legislative Session.

District 24 State Senator Larry Robinson and Representative Dwight Kiefert voted in favor of Senate Bill 2297. Representative Daniel Johnston voted against the measure on April 26th.
