MONTPELIER, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An 80 year-old Montpelier man is dead after a two vehicle crash on Highway 46 Monday evening.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that at around 6:30 PM, an 80 year-old man was eastbound on Highway 46 when his vehicle was struck from behind by a Dodge Ram driven by Damon Smith of Litchville. The man’s Jeep rolled and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Smith was transported to JRMC for injuries and released. The crash remains under investigation.

The LaMoure County Sheriff’s Office, Edgeley and LaMoure Ambulances assisted in the crash.
