VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Police Officers Christopher Olson and Wade Hannig, along with the City of Valley City were served with a notice of lawsuit and complaint which were previously filed in US District Court by the Aaland Law Firm on May 3.

City Attorney Carl Martineck said the City of Valley City and Officers Olson and Hannig intend to vigorously defend the allegations in the complaint. Each is entitled to have all of the facts surrounding the arrest of Warren Lindvold heard, and to defend the professionalism of these police officers.

Martineck said, at this point, in accordance with the City’s agreement with the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund, outside counsel has been appointed to defend the City and Officers Olson and Hannig in this action. He said any further inquiries can be directed to the appointed attorney representing the city through the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund.
