JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The crowd continued to grow as the 2nd Annual Downtown Arts Market kicked off Thursday evening.

The Jamestown Arts Center introduced the Arts Market to provide a weekly event for residents and the surrounding area, while also supporting downtown Jamestown and the arts. Free music, arts and crafts, vendors, and food were all present Thursday evening for the first day of the event.

Every Thursday, new musicians, artisan vendors, food options and crafts will be open to the public at the Hansen Art’s Park.

Jamestown Arts Center Executive Director Mindi Schmitz says the popular event was brought back after the first summer’s success. Volunteers and sponsors were needed in order to make the event possible.

June’s theme is “Cultural Kaleidoscope” and will feature West African Drumming, East Indian Dancing and more.

The Downtown Arts Market will be held each Thursday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM through August.
