JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The busy summer is in full swing for the Jamestown Arts Center.

All summer long, the Arts Center is holding their Downtown Arts Market. Every Thursday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, artisan vendors, crafts, food, and music will be at the Hansen Arts Park and open to the public.

Executive Director Mindi Schmitz says the event continues Thursday, June 20th.

Schmitz says next Thursday will feature open mic and the Steve Kuykendall band.

Also upcoming for the Arts Center is their new exhibit that opens today and runs through August 3rd.

Retrospective showcases the scope of Walter’s career and gives the public the opportunity to visually experience the evolution of an artist’s style.

“Walter is an aficionado of history and art with a lifelong passion for Western Americana,” the Arts Center states. “This stems from his upbringing in a ranching family that rode horses, raised stock, and participated in rodeos.”

The center is also preparing for the 55th Annual JFAA Art Show. Artists from across the region are encouraged to submit their works to the Arts Center by July 15th.
