BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Bismarck scored five unearned runs in the fourth and then held off Jamestown for a 10-9 win in game two to earn a split of their West Region Legion doubleheader in Bismarck Monday night.

After two were out, seven straight batters reached, three on errors for Bismarck in the fourth inning. With three hits and and walk tossed in, Bismarck turned a one run deficit into a four run lead. Parker DeCoteau,  Gage Dolajak and Kyle Gader had rbi singles in the inning for the Reps.

Post 14 would get two back in the fifth on an rbi single by Isaac Mimong and a balk to make it 9-7. Bismarck would get a run back in the bottom of the inning on a single by Jack Johnson.

Jamestown would get to within 10-9 in the sixth on Tommy Falk’s 2-run double. Ryder Lunzman reached in the seventh with a pinch hit single with two out, but was erased on a fielder’s choice the end the game.

Mimong had two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs for Jamestown. Both hits were doubles. Falk and Jeremy Williams also had two hits for Post 14. Falk added two rbi. The Jamestown defense struggled in the game committing nine errors and all but one of the runs for Bismarck were earned.

In game one, Jamestown scored five runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-4 lead, then Aaron Kleven shut the door on Bismarck, allowing just three hits in the last four four innings and only one baserunner got past second base in a 7-4 Jamestown win.

With Post 14 down 4-2 heading to the top of the fourth, three straight singles started the inning. The third, by Connor Hoyt, drove in Ryder Lunzman. Jacoby Nold’s ground out scored Max Anderson to tie the game at 4. Jeremy Williams scored Hoyt with what proved to be the game winner with a sacrifice fly. Dawson Douty walked with two out then scored when Chris Erickson’s fly ball to right field was dropped. Erickson would come in on Tommy Falk’s double one pitch later with the final run of the inning.

Lunzman and Anderson had two hits for Jamestown. Aaron Kleven pitched a complete game to get the win. He scattered eight hits over seven innings. He allowed four earned runs with a walk and five strikeouts.

Jamestown is now 7-6 overall and 5-1 in the West Region. They travel to Dickinson for a doubleheader on Friday. Bismarck is 3-3 in the West and 10-10 overall.
