VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Hanse & Andrus, a piano and violin duo from Tennessee, are bringing their talent all the way to North Dakota on Wednesday, July 3rd to the City Park Bandshell in Valley City. Music in City Park begins at 7:15 pm.

Nate Hance and Evie Andrus’s friendship goes way back. Nate’s sister (Danielle) and Evie were childhood best friends, so Evie spent a lot of time around the Hance home growing up in Minot, ND. They both journeyed away from home to pursue music at college and then went on to become freelance musicians. Evie fiddled her way down to Tennessee to play bluegrass tunes, while Nate played classical, jazz and pop music on cruise ships before moving to Colorado and then Minnesota to continue his musical career.

Despite their childhood connects, the pair had never played a note together until 2017 when they played an impromptu house concert in Maryville, TN. The results were so stunning that many from the crowd asked for a collaborative album. A few months of dreaming later, Nate came back down to Tennessee for a few days of rehearsing and recording a first-of-its-kind recording that brings together the best of both of their musical worlds – bluegrass, jazz, and a lot of spontaneous fun!

Nate and Evie are pleased to share their music back home in North Dakota with family and friends and are looking forward to perform in Valley City’s Band Shell.

A free will offering is taken to assist in the continued programming and care of the City Park Bandshell. Bring your lawn chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Vault located on Central Avenue in Valley City.
