Robert “Bob” Heinle, 75, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at his home under the care of his family with supportive services provided through Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Robert was born March 18, 1944 to Henry and Otilda (Burkhardt) Heinle at the family farm in Round Top Township, ND. The youngest of 4 children, Robert continued to live and work on the family farm for his entire life.

He attended Round Top Township Country school until 8th grade; many days walking a 5 mile round trip to do so. He then attended Buchanan High School and graduated in 1962.

Bob referred to himself as a simple man and enjoyed the simple things in life. He could always appreciate good cattle, straight fences, classic John Deere tractors, classic country music, ice cream; and coffee (with sugar) while reading the newspaper. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, appreciating the land that God had provided him to care for.

Bob’s love for his family and friends was always his top priority. He valued time spent visiting and telling stories. This humble, respectful, and dedicated man will be missed by many.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sonia (Chaput), children; Raquel, Jamestown, Nichole (Will) Haugen, Valley City, Luke (Sarah) Heinle, Buchanan, nine grandchildren, sisters; Delores Reed, Richvale, CA, Florence Weber, Detroit Lakes, MN, brother, Vernon (Kay) Heinle, Medina, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law; Sid and Charlotte Chaput, and three brothers-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials can be given to Hospice of the red river valley.
