JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s been years in the making, but on August 1st, A Moment of Freedom reached their biggest milestone yet.

The therapeutic, horse riding program is a non-profit located north of Jamestown in Buchanan. They work with individuals with special needs by utilizing the therapeutic benefits horses can provide.

Founder/President Annie Keffeler says all the work leading up to this moment has been worth it. She says there’s been a lot of interest in having equine therapy closer to home.

Program Director Kelli Connolly says she’s been undergoing trainings and more to prepare for this moment.

Connolly says she’s seen first hand just how far families need to travel to receive this kind of therapy care.

Because A Moment of Freedom operates as a non-profit, they are constantly seeking volunteers and donations. They will be hosting their 2nd Annual Barn Dance in Jamestown on August 24th at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds. Funds raised will support the program and their needs.

You can contact Annie Keffeler at 701-320-3543, e-mail amomentoffreedom@outlook.com or visit their Facebook page for more information.
