JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents of a convicted sex offender who is currently homeless within the city.

Larry Gant, 41, is a black male, 5’11”, 177 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee by the Office of the Attorney.

Gant was convicted of aggravated rape in Tennessee in 2003 when he and two others entered a residence through a bedroom window. They then raped a developmentally disabled teenager that was sleeping in the bedroom.

Gant is currently on probation with the ND Probation and Parole. Gant is not currently wanted at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety only and should not increase fear in the community. Any attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten an offender will be turned over for prosecution.
