JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Buffalo Museum has featured a juried art exhibit since May this year.

With more than 45 pieces of art on display through Labor Day, Collections Manager Rachel Johnson says the show is unique and will only be found in the museum.

Johnson says artists from all over donated their different two- and three-dimensional mediums to put on display and for sale in the exhibit.

Johnson says the benefit of the exhibit is that sales of each piece will benefit the museum and the artist who created that work.

“We do a 70/30 split with 30 percent of the proceeds going back to the artist and the 70 percent helping the National Buffalo Museum,” Johnson pointed out.

Money raised will go to support future exhibits and programs at the museum.

Johnson says another highlight of the museum is their new kids space.

Johnson says residents who haven’t been to the museum for some time are encouraged to come and see all the new highlights and things they’ve added in the past few years.

She says those who visit the museum will be greeted with a 17 minute video detailing the american bison conservation efforts.

You can find the Buffalo Museum at 500 17th St. SE in Jamestown. For more information, call 252-8648 or visit buffalomuseum.com.
