JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city of Jamestown will be home to a new, original Italian and seafood restaurant this December.

Developer Brian Lunde says the purchased building on First Street West next to Gun & Reel will become the site of the new Davoni’s Italian restaurant.

Lunde is no stranger to purchasing downtown Jamestown buildings and renovating them.

Lunde says the restaurant will seat up to 50 and address the demand for seafood and italian cuisine. He says when they first started the Buffalo City Grill, it was meant to fulfill sort of all dining needs.

But he says in a conversation with local business owner Jon Beyers, they found a need for this type of dining.

Lunde says they’ll develop the business, but they’ll bring in the LLC that also operates the Depot will help operate the business.

Being passionate for downtown and building renovation, Lunde says they’re going to do their best to maintain the history of the building.

Along with preserving the brick wall, Lunde says they stumbled across an original painting on a beam inside the building signifying it as the original building for Jamestown’s first newspaper; the Jamestown Daily Alert.

The building will be expanded to the south for additional space to accommodate the kitchen. The basement will also be renovated for private dining experiences. It will also be ADA compliant.

The space was most recently occupied by Witthauer and Associates before their move to a new location.
